Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC)
The Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) is recognised by the Secretary of State for Health as representative of community pharmacy on NHS matters. PSNC's main objective is to secure the best possible NHS service opportunities, remuneration, terms and conditions for NHS pharmacy contractors in England and Wales. PSNC represents and promotes the interests of almost 11,000 pharmacy contractors (pharmacy owners) in England and Wales. It is the role of PSNC to liaise with the Department of Health and to negotiate the contractual terms for the provision of NHS community pharmacy services.

The National Pharmacy Association (NPA)
The National Pharmacy Association (NPA) is the trade association for the UK’s community pharmacy owners and has virtually all community pharmacies in voluntary membership. The Association provides its members with professional and commercial support as well as representing the interests of community pharmacy in dialogue with Government both at a national and European level. The NPA is headed by the Chief Executive and the Board comprising representatives of community pharmacy from across the United Kingdom.

It also regulates pharmacy technicians on a voluntary basis, which is expected to become statutory under anticipated legislation. The primary objectives of the Society are to lead, regulate, develop and represent the profession of pharmacy.
